I think that if you’re really interested in a label, you’ll find that tomboy and girly are not the only ones available. For instance, here is a (by no means exhaustive) list of terms I have heard used (and, let’s be honest, personally used) to describe various “types” of queer, females-assigned folks:

- Femme Aggressive in Boy Clothes
- Tomboy

- White-dyke (andro-/butch-/femme-leaning)
- Nature Dyke
- Boi
- Girlfag
- Boidyke
- Boydyke
- Transdyke (obviously trans women can fit into any of these categories, but this is also a specific term)
- Bashful Butch
- Cocky Femme
- Trickster
- Bull dyke
- Bulldagger
- Baby Dyke
- Dykeling
- Secret Butch
- Secret Femme
- No-labels Queer
- No-labels Gay
- Sporty dyke
- Old-school Butch
- Dinah Shore Lesbian
- Wannabe Shane
- NYC queer hipster jew
- Lipstick Lesbian
- Michigan Women’s Festival Lesbian
- Lesbian Separatist
- Rugby Dyke
- Granola Dyke
- Stemme
- Long-haired Butch
- Preppy dykes
- Well, that’s all I can think of right now, but I know I’m forgetting a TON
On the one hand, these labels are bullshit and you definitely should not feel the need to choose one or conform to any of this. On the other hand, these terms all exist because they are descriptive of actual people. The labels only exist because people already were those things. You should feel free to make up your own label.
Another solution could be to wear the lingerie under your plaid shirts and skinny jeans…
